Rachel McMillian
As stated on my home page I recently graduated from TCU with a major in Strategic Communications. I have a strong interest in advertising, public relations, events and marketing. I enjoy the creative aspect of these fields as well as the corporate side. I have experience with programs such as Photoshop, InDesign and all Microsoft programs. I have also learned the basics on coding, HTML5, CSS, and Javascript to code and create websites.
Presently I am interning with Wriglesworth Consultancy in London, England where I have learned the ins and outs of public relations more specifically within the housing, banking, and job markets. In parts of 2011-2012 I was a Marketing Ambassador for Campus Cardboard which gave me the freedom and initiative to hold marketing events on campus for students. In the summer of 2011, I interned with J.P. Morgan Chase in their Human Resources Department as a Recruiting Intern. Here I learned valuable business, personable, and organizational skills in reference to system operations in analzying and administrating over-the-phone interviews.
After my summer as a full time intern in 2011, I decided to do as much travelling as I could. In the summers of 2012 and 2013 I made it a goal to visit as many places as I could. Traveling is one of my many passions and I feel it is important to experience and learn about the many different cultures. I was able to visit England, Scotland, France, Spain, and Peru. Through these travels I feel I have gained more knowledge about the world and learned a little more about myself along the way.
I am really looking forward for the next phase of my life and cannot wait to get my foot in the door to my future career. I feel I have the educated and experience to be successful in my field of choice. I have worked on and completed many marketing plans, created print and outdoor advertisement with various creative programs and have learned to worked with many different kinds of teams in a professional manner. I hope to learn much more and gain more exprience in the many years to come.
